Release Dates Announced!
Sorry for the lack of updates, but we're quite busy ☺. Anyways, ignitionServer 0.3.3 is all set to launch this Friday. Also, we're pretty sure ignitionServices 0.1.0 will launch this Monday. Both dates are somewhat tentative, since I may be heading to Arkansas for a few days (it's summer break, after all). But, if I'm here, that's what days we'll be releasing.
If you want to know what new features there are (there's quite a few ☺), you'll have to either wait until I release it, or read the changelog (which is located on CVS, and if you can't find it, you can surely wait two or three days).
On a side note, ignitionServer 0.3.4 will be greatly improved from 0.3.3. There'll be quite a few more features, and (this goes out to the people who can't figure out ircx.conf) a new configuration format! The configuration format will be none other than XML. It's fast, easy, and you can extend to it and not have to worry about people screwing up by putting a colon in the wrong space. Also, this means any character would be legal. No more macros! Whee! Anyways, when 0.3.3 comes out and we increase the version number on the CVS version, we'll likely keep the old config until we transition to the new config format. This may confuse you, since there'll be two files (ircx.conf, ignitionserver.xml). If you want to use a CVS version of 0.3.4, keep editing ircx.conf. When we finally do switch over, we'll make the error log yell at you. Something like:
1 | (7/21/2004 1:55:26 AM) An old configuration file is present! This format is no longer supported. Please remove ircx.conf and configure ignitionServer with ignitionserver.xml. |
But I'm not sure.
